Opening of Gunning Showground Bushland Park

Celebrate the Opening of the Gunning Showground Bushland Park!

Gunning District Landcare warmly invites the community to the official opening of the Gunning Showground Bushland Park. The ceremony will take place on Sunday 22 June from 2:00–2:45 pm, followed by light refreshments at the Gunning Shire Hall.

Over the past two years, Landcare volunteers have been working to restore five acres of bushland in the south-western corner of the showground. The transformation includes the removal of invasive weeds, planting of native plant species, installation of new fencing, accessible walking paths, seating, a yarning circle and interpretive signage. This exciting project was made possible thanks to generous funding from the NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities Fund.

Please arrive between 1:30 and 1:45 pm at the Gunning Shire Hall on Copeland Street. Volunteers will guide you from there. It’s a short walk to the Bushland Park, with the option to drive for those with limited mobility. In case of wet weather, the ceremony will be held in the Hall.
